After submitting an application to the embassy/consulate, you only have to wait. The time limit for consideration of a study visa application is 60 days.
You can check the status of your application on the website of the Migration Service Registry
Enter your application number in the field marked yellow. The application number is indicated on the paper that was given to you when you submitted your documents. For example: PETE123456789
Attention: if the registration system says that the application is approved, you do not need to email or call the embassy/consulate immediately. Its employees will contact you and invite you to affix your visa.
